If you installed Windows XP yourself on a homemade system it would have prompted you for an Administrator password during the preliminary stages of the XP installation. The adminstrative password that the Recovery Console is refering to is the password that was created during the installation of Windows XP. The Recovery Console is accessible as long as the installation CD is available. There is no such thing as a "generic" password.
